Passagi
‘Passaggi,’ or ‘Passages’ in Italian, is an exhibition of observation and reflection bringing together the distinct practices of French-American designer and artist Sophie Lou Jacobsen, Giulia Nardi of Milanese publication Cose Journal, and American-Italian photographer Adrianna Glaviano. Each of these women has a talent for infusing personal narratives and vulnerabilities into their projects, which, although individual, resonate on a universal level.
Challenging the conventional perceptions of everyday objects, ‘Passaggi’ presents a compelling selection of their mirror-images – the objects themselves – translated into glass forms. Through these reinterpretations, viewers will be invited to explore the deeper layers of memory that makeup our lives, and in turn, entangle our emotional interior.
“Passaggi” is the second initiative ideated by CONTRIBUTIONS Design, following the inaugural edition of the eponymous festival that took place in Paris in the fall of 2023, counting Jacobsen amongst its participants. Driven by an ambition to amplify artists and designers’ endeavors, CONTRIBUTIONS is proud to bring Jacobsen, Nardi and Glavianno’s voices together for this conversation of aesthetic ideologies. Each of these women has a talent for infusing personal narratives and vulnerabilities into their projects, which, although individual, resonate on a universal level. During the bustling week of Salone, “Passaggi” aspires to offer visitors a contemplative pause, a moment of suspended magic.
